PRESS RELEASE - Bladetech Hockey partners with PWHPA to support growth of professional women's hockey
Toronto-based Bladetech Hockey has signed a partnership agreement with the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and has been designated as the “Official Blades of the PWHPA”.  As part of the agreement, Bladetech Hockey will provide their patented “Flex Force Advantage”, high-tech skate blades to all members of the PWHPA. The agreement comes as many of the PWHPA members prepare for the 2021 World Hockey Championship in Calgary, AB, Canada, kicking off today.

  In 2013 Jeffrey Azzolin had a simple question: where is the value added in hockey skates? After close examination he realized that all of the value was added in the boot of the skate, with very little thought about the relationship between the blade holder and skate blade beneath the boot. He went to work. First, Jeff researched technology in sports that gave performance benefits.  He landed on the relatively new development in long-track speed skating called the "clap" skate.
