We are celebrating our friend Brent Burns' 1500th NHL game! Only the 23^rd player in league history to play that many games.  How does he keep his body in shape for 21 seasons in the NHL?

The Flex Force Advantage helps make you a faster skater with it’s ability to output more power and increase foot speed.  But the very first step of the Flex Force is what is most interesting to your joint health and longevity.

Flex Force Absorbs Impact

When a skate blade hits the ice, the player is impacted with the opposite vertical force they are pushing down into the ice with, which typically gets absorbed by the foot, ankle, knee, hip and back that in combination acts like a “shock” to the body’s system.  Body parts like knee cartilage (which is like a sponge in the knee) wears out over time, making these impacts painful on the joints.

When the Bladetech blade hits the ice, some of this impact (up to 20% of it) gets ABSORBED by the blade, and stored for use to output again as more power when a player extends their stride.  This absorption is what is going to protect the entire body from those reverse impact forces. 

While there is minimal benefit in one shift or one game, the benefit is compounded over the course of months, a season, and an entire career.
