About Brent Sopel:

Brent Sopel is a former NHL player and Stanley Cup Champion who has dedicated their time post career to helping support children with dyslexia through his foundation. He has suffered from dyslexia ever since he was a kid but wasn't diagnosed until later on in his life when he was 33 years old. Without understanding his disability, he struggled in school and lived in fear of having to read out loud.

Fast forward a few decades later and the Brent Sopel Foundation has done amazing work in supporting children with dyslexia, their main focus being on students and raising awareness. So far they have directly impacted over 40,000 students, 15,000 families and have done so in over 40 countries.
