Warrior Alpha Pro Skate Launch

Warrior Hockey has launched the Alpha Pro skate line, marking a significant statement by a brand better known for sticks that it's ready to compete seriously in the premium skate market. The Alpha Pro brings genuine engineering investment and a distinct performance philosophy to an already crowded space.

What You Need to Know

The Alpha Pro's defining characteristic is its boot profile, which is wider through the mid-foot than competing premium skates from Bauer and CCM. Warrior has positioned this as a performance advantage for players with medium-to-wide feet who have historically had to compromise between premium performance and adequate fit. Rather than offering a wide-width variant of a narrow baseline model, the Alpha Pro's standard last accommodates a broader foot profile without sacrificing the performance characteristics that make a premium skate worth the investment.

The boot construction uses a carbon fiber composite panel system with a distinctive asymmetric design — the medial (inside) panel uses a slightly different fiber orientation than the lateral panel to account for the different force profiles experienced on each side of the boot during typical skating mechanics.

The holder system on the Alpha Pro is Warrior's new proprietary Ergo mount, designed to reduce the height from boot sole to blade center, lowering the overall center of gravity. The ergonomic mount angle is also slightly adjusted from the conventional 90-degree perpendicular, positioning the blade at an angle Warrior's biomechanical research identified as optimal for their target player profile.

Alpha Pro Highlights:

  • Medium-to-wide last — the performance option for broader feet
  • Asymmetric carbon fiber panel construction
  • New Ergo holder with reduced height and adjusted blade angle
  • Competitive pricing against comparable Bauer and CCM flagship models

Warrior's Alpha Pro is a serious contender. For players who've struggled to find a premium skate that fits, it deserves a try.
