Bauer Vapor LTX Era

The Bauer Vapor line has always been synonymous with speed and an anatomical fit for narrower foot profiles, and the LTX builds on that legacy with meaningful refinements that serious players will appreciate.

What You Need to Know

The Vapor LTX introduces Bauer's updated CURV composite construction in the quarter package, which achieves a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio than previous generations. The result is a boot that holds an edge push more efficiently without adding bulk. The heel lock on the LTX has also been redesigned — a new 3D-formed heel counter reduces the micro-movements inside the boot that rob energy from your stride.

The outsole geometry has been revised to lower the center of gravity slightly, which Bauer claims improves lateral transitions. For forwards who rely on quick edge-to-edge changes in tight spaces, this is a welcome update. The carbon fiber reinforcement in the outsole extends further into the arch, providing a more stable platform underfoot.

The tongue on the LTX uses a dual-density foam with an integrated anatomical lace bite pad — a feature that players coming from older Vapor models will notice immediately. Lace bite has historically been a complaint for skaters in the Vapor family, and this update addresses it without compromising the forward flex that defines the line.

Fit remains narrow in the toe box and heel, true to Vapor tradition. Players with wider feet should demo before committing.

LTX Highlights:

  • Updated CURV composite for better stiffness-to-weight
  • Redesigned heel counter for improved lock and energy transfer
  • Revised outsole geometry for lower center of gravity
  • New dual-density tongue with lace bite pad

The Vapor LTX Era represents one of the most refined iterations of Bauer's speed skate family. If you fit the Vapor last, this skate is worth serious consideration.
